A.J. Swinbank has walked away the winner of the Business Accelerators Award. Founder and designer of Where Eagles Dare clothing, Swinbank, 22, is considered on the most up and coming young British entrepreneurs of his day.
The Man Behind the Brand
A.J. completely believes in hard work paying off, and after applying for £2,000 from the Prince’s Trust, and money saved from his night job, Swinbank put in the time, passion and drive to become a highly respected entrepreneur, all at the age of 22.
Swinbank confessed that he started the label at such a young age because he had no responsibilities, other than to carving a career out for himself, so he could dedicate and devote all his time to making his business venture work. The prize from Business Accelerators has already proved to be immensely helpful for the Where Eagles Dare brand, with horse racing legend Frank Dettori being the newest member of the clothing brand’s alumni.
Award
The Business Accelerators prize is a dream for young entrepreneurs building their brands and breaking into the world of business. The entire prize comprises of top professional business advice from a business mentor, free advertising space in The Northern Echo and – one thing that most entrepreneurs find a difficult overhead – a 6 months rent-free office space in one of the Enterprise Centre Buildings, as allocated by the council. This award will take Where Eagles Dare to new heights, which even real Eagles would consider crazy.
Clients
Danny Welbeck of Manchester United fame, and Spencer Matthews of ‘Made in Chelsea’ fame, have been spotted in Where Eagles Dare apparel. It seems these famous guys have a penchant for the retro cardigan, with several musicians and race-car drivers also sporting this popular clothing brand.
As a recognised newcomer to the business world Swinbank didn’t have overnight success, he worked hard to get to where he is today, at such a young age. His clothing brand – Where Eagles Dare – is a popular brand amongst many other Premier League Football players and famous musicians, and it’s still gaining in popularity.
The Brand
Where Eagles Dare is an up-and-coming clothing brand that closes the divide between retro American style and contemporary design to present clothing that is instantly recognisable and known as ‘Ambitious Clothing,’ by its designer. AJ Swinbank’s initial dream was to become a professional golfer, but when that didn’t pan out; he turned his passion, drive and skill to clothing design, at the age of 20. Two years later Where Eagles Dare clothing brand is climbing and looks sure to be rated amongst the top fashion brands in a few years. With the rate at which their popularity is climbing, it won’t be surprising to see it at the top of fashions ‘must-have’ list very soon.
Swinbank will be working with a mentor, and putting in the time and effort to put Where Eagles Dare on the map. This brand looks set to become a first favourite with celebrities.
