Google Page Rank (PR) is a link analysis algorithm system used by the Google search engine which was developed by and named after Larry Page.
Page Rank is a numeric value that represents how important a website is online. Page Rank is Google’s view of the importance of this page.
When a website ‘A’ link is placed to website ‘B’ this is in fact counted as a vote for website ‘A’. The more votes a page has, it will be considered more important by Google. It all depends on your Organic SEO efforts, In-bound and Out-bound links. Remember, not all links are given value by Google. For example, Google filters out and discards the links of pages devoted exclusively to put links called 'link farms'.
The importance of the page that is casting the vote is equally important. Google calculates a page's importance from the votes cast for it. Page Rank is Google's way of deciding a page's importance.
Some people say that Sites with high Google PageRank get a higher ranking in Google results (According to my research and experience I believe this was in the past, Now PR does not affect your ranking in Google results. That depends on the “Keyword volume” and ‘Content”.
Note: It’s not easy to gain PR for all websites. Lot of hard work and techniques are required. Social Network websites, Social Media, Huge Brands, News Portals and Blogger Geeks gain High PR with minimum efforts. Do not forget that where the PR increases periodically there is always a chance of PR decrease. So be careful with your SEO handling.
